A new essay will be forthcoming in Desiring Change: Contemporary Feminist Art in Canada, edited by Heather Davis, the first collection of essays on feminist art in Canada commissioned by MAWA for their 30th anniversary. This book will take as its starting point the entangled and enmeshed relations of desire to bring together some of the most interesting and complex contemporary Canadian feminist art. Contributors include: Janice Anderson (Art History, Concordia University), Gina Badger (artist, writer, editor, Toronto), Karin Cope (Art History, NSCAD), Amy Fung (writer, editor, curator, Toronto), Kristina Huneault (Art History, Concordia University), Alice Jim (Art History, Concordia University), Johanne Lamoureux (Histoire de l’art, Université de Montréal), Tanya Lukin Linklater (writer and artist, North Bay), Allyson Mitchell (artist,York University, Toronto), Sheila Petty (Fine Arts, University of Regina), Kathleen Ritter (curator and writer, Vancouver), Stephanie Springgay (OISE, Toronto), Thérèse St. Gelais (Histoire de l’art, UQAM), Cheyanne Turions (curator and writer, Toronto), Jayne Wark (Art History, NSCAD), Jenny Western (curator and writer, Winnipeg), and Zofia Zaliwska (OISE, Toronto).
